Program Overview

Inquisitive toddlers will find a safe environment that encourages exploration, independence, and meets all of their sensory input needs. Our curriculum focuses on self- help skills, social emotional regulation, and attachment. Restrooms within the classroom help ease the transition into toilet training for each toddler. Training pants and wipes are included in tuition.

Areas of Study

Social Emotional Regulation

Social Emotional Regulation is a key component that fosters healthy emotional development and interpersonal skills. Through carefully designed activities and a nurturing environment, toddlers are encouraged to express their feelings and learn how to manage their emotions effectively. Guided discussions, role-playing scenarios, and the use of emotion cards help children identify and articulate their feelings, promoting empathy and understanding for themselves and others. Additionally, the classroom's emphasis on respect, kindness, and cooperation provides a safe space for toddlers to practice conflict resolution and develop positive relationships. By cultivating social emotional skills, children gain the tools they need to navigate their emotions and interactions, setting the stage for a well-rounded and resilient future.

Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies

Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies are intricately woven into the daily activities, fostering a rich and engaging learning environment.

Mathematics is introduced through hands-on materials that encourage exploration and discovery. Simple counting games, sorting activities, and measuring tasks allow toddlers to engage with numbers and concepts in a concrete way. These playful interactions help build foundational skills such as one-to-one correspondence, pattern recognition, and basic arithmetic, all while nurturing a natural curiosity about the world of numbers.

Language development is supported through a print-rich environment and interactive storytelling. Children are encouraged to express themselves verbally and through song, with activities that promote vocabulary expansion and phonemic awareness. Engaging with tactile materials, such as movable alphabets, allows toddlers to explore the sounds and shapes of letters, laying the groundwork for reading and writing skills.

Cultural Studies introduce toddlers to the rich diversity of the world around them. Through engaging stories, music, art, and celebrations from various cultures, children learn to appreciate differences and similarities among people. Hands-on activities, such as exploring maps or tasting foods from different regions, provide meaningful experiences that foster curiosity and respect for cultural diversity.

Together, these areas create a holistic learning experience that nurtures a love for learning and helps toddlers develop essential skills for their future educational journey.

Practical Life

The Practical Life area serves as a foundation for independence and self-confidence. This engaging space is filled with real-life activities that allow young children to learn essential skills through purposeful work. From pouring and scooping to dressing themselves and caring for plants, toddlers are encouraged to take on tasks that promote fine motor development and coordination. These activities not only foster a sense of responsibility but also empower children to contribute to their environment, enhancing their problem-solving abilities and social skills. By mastering practical life skills, toddlers build a strong sense of self-efficacy, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning and independence in their daily lives.

Toilet Learning

In our toddler classrooms, Toilet Learning is approached with patience and respect, creating a supportive environment that empowers children to gain independence in this essential life skill. The process is guided by the principles of observation and encouragement, allowing toddlers to take the lead in their learning journey. Child-sized toilets and accessible materials foster a sense of ownership and comfort, making the experience approachable and enjoyable. Through consistent routines and positive reinforcement, children learn to recognize their body’s signals and develop the confidence to communicate their needs. This gentle and respectful approach not only promotes self-sufficiency but also reinforces the importance of personal hygiene, helping toddlers build a strong foundation for autonomy and responsibility as they grow.

Movement

Movement is essential for both physical and cognitive development. The environment is designed to encourage active exploration, providing various materials that invite toddlers to crawl, walk, climb, and navigate their surroundings.

Activities such as climbing structures, balancing beams, and open spaces for running and dancing enhance gross motor skills, coordination, and balance. Fine motor skills are developed through purposeful tasks like pouring, threading, and manipulating small objects, promoting hand-eye coordination and concentration.

By integrating movement into daily routines, toddlers gain confidence and independence while fostering a joy for discovery. This dynamic approach lays a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning and physical activity.
